Plot Synopsis
Each year since 1959, the Daytona International Speedway, a 2.5-mile racetrack in Daytona Beach, Florida, has hosted an event featuring stock cars competing against each other in a 500-mile race. The DAYTONA 500 was first televised in 1960, for its second running, with CBS showing 90 minutes of live action on Sunday afternoon during its CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR on February 14. It wasn't until 1979 that the DAYTONA 500 was shown live, from flag to flag and in its entirety.

For the 66th running of the DAYTONA 500, rain postponed the race, which is now scheduled for Monday, February 19, 2024 at 4pm ET/1pm PT on FOX. Former NASCAR Cup Series champion and 2007 Daytona 500 winner Kevin Harvick makes his NASCAR analyst debut, alongside play-by-play announcer Mike Joy, covering his 45th Daytona 500 for live TV or radio, and analyst and former driver Clint Bowyer, in his fourth year with FOX Sports. Longtime race analyst and two-time DAYTONA 500-winning crew chief Larry McReynolds, with FOX for his 21st consecutive Daytona Speedweeks, partners with Joy, Bowyer and Harvick from the FOX Sports studios in Charlotte.
