Plot Synopsis

The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards has been honoring excellence in all fields of daytime broadcast production since 1974. The Emmy is awarded in more than 60 categories, including acknowledgements for series, performers and all other technical and creative areas. The Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy, which honors the crafts behind the shows, are typically awarded in an untelevised ceremony one or two days before the Daytime Emmy Awards, which honors lead, supporting, and younger actor/actress in a drama series, as well as many other categories. The Daytime Creative Arts and Entertainment Emmy Awards, which honors the crafts behind the shows, were given out on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles in a non-televised ceremony, where Russell Morash, the creator of how-to television, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award. Two days later on Sunday, June 22, 2014, Kathy Griffin hosted the 41st DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS, which took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and was streamed live online at www.daytimeemmys.net beginning at 8pm ET/5pm PT with red-carpet coverage beginning two hours earlier: 6pm ET/3pm PT. At this year's ceremony, Emmy Awards were handed out for 25 categories, including several new ones, including: Entertainment News; Outstanding New Approaches Drama Series; Outstanding Morning Program in Spanish; Outstanding Entertainment Program in Spanish; and Outstanding Daytime Talent in a Spanish-Language Program.
