Plot Synopsis

In this animated children's program, 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, the son of Daniel Striped Tiger from MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD, teaches life's little lessons while providing a kid's-eye view of his life and everyday adventures. Aimed at preschoolers ages 2-4 and their families, Daniel teaches fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning. Each 30-minute episode features two distinct stories sharing a common teaching message, including: "When something seems bad, turn it around and find something good!," which uses a smushed -- but yummy -- birthday cake and a rainy day that forces Daniel and his friends to move their picnic inside a clock tower; "When we do something new, let's talk about what we'll do!," highlighting how Daniel handles anxiety by asking questions on his first visit to school and how talking and reading helps him prepare for a doctor's visit; "Everyone is big enough to do something," showing how Prince Wednesday may not be tall enough to pick the highest fruit but he's the only one small enough to grab the magical golden pear and how Daniel Tiger finds ways to help his Dad build a playhouse even though he's not old enough to use grown-up tools; and many more life lessons.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, DANIEL TIGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD returned on Monday, September 6, 2022 on PBS. The celebration includes the launch of Season 6 on PBS KIDS with four new episodes that showcase more preschool "firsts" such as having a new babysitter, going to a sleepover and trying a new activity. The episodes will feature fresh strategy songs to help families navigate these relatable situations and more. The full season includes 18 new 30-minute episodes.

Season 7 of DANIEL TIGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD debuted on Monday, August 12, 2024 on PBS (check local listings). The new season features 14 episodes with new interstitials plus one half-hour special. For the first time, the series includes stories from the points-of-view of familiar friends. Each half-hour features one story from Daniel's perspective and another from the perspective of characters including Katerina Kittycat, Miss Elaina, O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, Jodi Platypus, Max, and Chrissie. The show's iconic "Imagination Moments" are also be presented from the unique perspectives of other characters to illustrate each friend's own imaginative style. In addition to new songs and stories -- including a helpful potty strategy tune -- the seventh season is highlighted by an episode where Daniel and friends wonder what's new about Trolley. Viewers also get to visit a new location and meet Jodi's dad, Mr. Plat, who lives outside the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
