Plot Synopsis

Using first-person accounts, interviews with experts and friends, and cinematic re-enactments, host Dr. David Marsh chronicles stories of people who have lived through curses that have tormented, hurt, and even killed. Each 60-minute episode has a common theme, featuring three tales about those who have lived through curses or had seen others affected by them, including these stories: "Borrowed Agony," which documents stories from people who have come in contact with cursed objects, such as a doll that Victor's sister received as a gift as a child, the famous 'Crying Boy' painting that is said to cause the home it is in to burn to the ground, and a welding mask that Richard puts on at a friend's house, opening the door for a spirit; "Inherited Misery," which highlight stories about cursed bloodlines and families, such as a direct descendent of the Bell Witch who terrorizes the men in his bloodline until they commit suicide or are driven insane, a family curse that kills off the men by way of cars, and the spirit of an angry relative that causes noises, strange occurrences and violent actions in the family home; "Tempting Fate," which features stories about curses associated with removing objects from forbidden places, such as an ancient relic that causes Jake to feel pain and misery after taking the object from the land of a legendary witch, knickknacks from Bodie State Park in California, causing countless tourists to be stricken with illness, accidents and sudden death, and a cursed object purchased in Egypt by a doctor who later sought out an exorcism to rid him of the curse; and many more tales of terror. Dr. David Marsh is a retired Professor and holds PhDs in Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology from Oxford University and Dartmouth.
