Plot Synopsis
CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA features eight international teams -- comprised of four men's and four women's teams from top rinks in the United States, China, Japan and New Zealand -- competing in the inaugural U.S. Curling Grand Prix. The event took place on December 4-6, 2014 at Fogerty Arena, the home of the Four Seasons Curling Club, a Team USA National Training Center in Blaine, MN. The U.S. rinks are led by 2012 national champion Heath McCormick and reigning U.S. women's champion Nina Roth. McCormick's rink includes Olympians Joe Polo, who earned a bronze medal as part of the U.S. team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, and Chris Plys, who was a member of the U.S. team in Vancouver in 2010. Pete Fenson, who served as skip of the bronze medal-winning U.S. team in 2006, and was an analyst for NBC Olympics' curling coverage at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, coaches the U.S. men's team. NBCSN aired CURLING NIGHT IN AMERICA on six Fridays, beginning on January 23, 2015 and continuing through March 20.
