Plot Synopsis

Correspondents investigate the biggest criminal enterprises in the world. Each 60-minute episode focuses on a single type of crime: human trafficking, a $32 billion underground industry that includes everything from prostitution to slave labor; stolen goods, a $70 billion industry that is a complex web of stealing, buying, and selling; counterfeit goods, the world's largest underground industry that peddles fake handbags, watches, shoes and perfumes; illegal gambling, an underground world that technology made more accessible, turning it into a thriving illegal business hiding in plain sight; and prescriptions for profit, a $100 billion a year industry in which criminals bribe medical professionals and run online rogue pharmacies, where Valium and Vicodin fall into the wrong hands. In Summer 2011, this series included three new episodes and two episodes that previously aired on CNBC as stand-alone specials.
