Plot Synopsis

Working out of a 20,000-square-foot barn on their parents' farm in Needville, Texas, Jon and Kristen Meier convert shipping containers into some of the most unique and charming homes imaginable. Each 30-minute episode of CONTAINABLES features a different job, including the series premiere, "Deadlines and Due Dates," in which they create a three-container structure in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. Dealing with tricky terrain and inclement mountain weather, the team enlists the help of their family to install bowling alley wood countertops, large patio doors and a huge back deck with a spiral staircase leading up to a rooftop observation platform. With both Kristen and their client about to have babies, there are deadlines and due dates looming so it's a race to the finish line to complete the build on time. In the second episode, "Containers of Staggering Size," Jon and Kristen want to change the way people think about container living and start by tackling their biggest build yet. They stagger two 40-foot containers and open the walls between them to create a massive great room. Then, they add a large deck to accommodate friends and family for entertaining.

On Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered "Container Home Away from Home," the season finale of CONTAINABLES. Jon and Kristen work to build a container home for the in-laws when they come to visit their new grandson. With only four weeks to complete the project, the couple must tackle 20-foot and 40-foot containers to create a rooftop deck and an indoor living area.
