Plot Synopsis

COAL follows Mike Crowder and Tom Roberts, who are co-owners of Cobalt Mine in Westchester, WV, as well as their mining team of 40 employees and members of the local community. At work, these machine operators, foremen, electricians, and drivers work in one of the nation's most dangerous industries as they detonate super-charged explosives to open surface mines and toil in the dark recesses of a traditional shaft mine.
