Plot Synopsis

Featuring first-person recollections of past Open Champions having earned the title of Champion Golfer of the Year, CHRONICLES OF A CHAMPION GOLFER documents the careers of six men who ultimately lifted the Claret Jug, including: Tiger Woods (2000, '05, '06), Greg Norman (1986, '93), Tom Watson (1975, '77, '80, '82, '83), Ernie Els (2002, '12), Jack Nicklaus (1966, '70, '78) and Darren Clarke (2011). Over a three-week stretch leading into The Open, Golf Channel premiered back-to-back episodes in primetime on Wednesday nights beginning at 9pm ET on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 as the network prepared for its inaugural coverage of the Championship.
