Plot Synopsis

In Season 1, 12 returning CHOPPED champions bring their culinary talent back to the kitchen, where they try to impress a panel of judges, including Bobby Flay. As usual, the chefs are tasked with making unforgettable meals from a basket of mystery ingredients over three rounds -- appetizer, entree, and dessert -- with a limited amount of time. The winners from each of the first three episodes advance to the grand finale, where the final three chefs battle it out to see who will win $15,000, with the winner going up against Bobby himself in a bonus round to earn an additional $25,000. In the championship, the group of three undefeated champs must make appetizers with camel meat and a strange sauce, and the level of difficulty in the entree round is off-the-charts. The one contender who survives to compete in the highly anticipated Bobby Flay bonus round has the advantage of making their own signature dish, but using ingredients from a CHOPPED basket.

CHOPPED: BEAT BOBBY FLAY returned for a second helping on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network. For this CHOPPED tournament event, 16 fearless champions are back to defeat the ultimate competitive-cooking heavy hitter, Chef Bobby Flay! The winner of each of the four preliminary battles advance to the finale for a chance to take on Bobby for $50,000. In the premiere battle, a strangely sweet sandwich and beautiful seafood await the champs in the first basket. Round two involves an unusual beef jerky product and a twist on hummus, and in the do-or-die dessert round, the remaining chefs have to use a special banana pudding and some fancy bacon. In the second episode, four more returning champions try to impress Food Network superstar Bobby Flay for a chance to compete against him for $50,000! In the first round, an oven mishap leads to an alarming situation. An American classic in frozen form threatens to stump the chefs in the entree round, and the two champs who remain for the dessert round must make big plans for a candy-themed tart and a peculiar popcorn product.
