Plot Synopsis

In the fourth installment of Dick Wolf's "Chicago" franchise, CHICAGO JUSTICE follows the State's Attorney's dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators as they navigate heated city politics and controversy head-on, while fearlessly pursuing justice. They take on the city's high-stakes and often media-frenzied cases, and must balance public opinion, power struggles within the system and their unwavering passion for the law. At the center of the show is prosecutor Peter Stone, the ambitious Deputy Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau. Relentless in his quest for justice, it's more than a job, it's a purpose. Stone is shooting at a target that only he can see. This often puts him in direct conflict with Mark Jefferies, the Cook County State's Attorney who sees the world through a political prism. While Jefferies believes that a good prosecutor gives the jury and the public a clear, clean and digestible narrative, Stone is convinced the law isn't always best served in a sound bite. Together with their team, Stone and Jefferies strive to bring some much-needed justice to the city of Chicago. The team also includes Assistant State's Attorney Anna Valdez, a passionate newcome, who's more flexible and willing to bend the rules to get the right result; Laura Nagel, a tough-as-nails State's Attorney Investigator that sees each case through the eyes of the victim; and Antonio Dawson, a level-headed and by-the-book detective turned Chief Investigator. CHICAGO JUSTICE first appeared as a backdoor pilot on the May 12, 2016 broadcast of CHICAGO P.D. Ten months later -- on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT -- NBC presented a special sneak-peek of CHICAGO JUSTICE, just days before the program's official series premiere on Sunday, March 5 at 9pm.

On Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT, NBC premiered the season finale of CHICAGO JUSTICE. In the season ender, "Tycoon," a crane collapses at a construction site and kills the son-in-law of wealthy real estate developer, Frank Linden (guest star Richard Schiff). Nagel and Antonio, with the help of CFD Chief Boden (guest star Eamonn Walker), discover that the collapse wasn't actually an accident. The team digs into Linden, who has made many enemies, more dangerous friends, and is accustomed to using his money to get his way. Also guest starring Sophia Bush.
