Plot Synopsis
CATASTROPHE, INC. follows a cleanup crew -- a local branch of ServiceMaster based in Cleveland, OH that travels around the country -- which specializes in water and fire damage restoration, mold remediation, storm recovery and event cleanup. Each 30-minute episode focuses on a single job, including: a home in Richmond, VA that was damaged when ferocious wind speeds caused a 100-year-old tree to be uprooted from their yard, crashing directly into the side of their home and damaging the roof, nursery room, and landscaping; a home in Colorado Springs, CO that barely survived a raging wildfire but still suffered extreme heat, smoke, and water damage after the fire department was able to fight back the flames; and many more homes that lost battles with wind, water or fire. The crew includes: licensed disaster recovery contractors Ed Ranieri and Enzo Maddalena; designer Kari Openshaw; and Joe Charboneau, former Cleveland Indians player and all around construction worker. HGTV aired two, back-to-back episodes as a sneak peek on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 7pm ET. Eight months later, HGTV aired the official series premiere of this program on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 10am ET, showing back-to-back new episodes.
