Plot Synopsis

Based on the UK series MIRANDA and executive produced by Jim Parsons and series star Mayim Bialik, CALL ME KAT is a half-hour comedy series that centers on Kat, a woman who struggles every day against society -- and her mother -- to prove that she can still live a happy and fulfilling life despite still being single at 39. Which is why she recently spent her entire savings to open a cat cafe in Louisville, Kentucky. It was expected that Kat would be married with kids by now, but for many reasons, she's still single -- and totally fine with it. Of course, Kat's mother, Sheila, views her daughter's single-hood as her own personal failure, but Kat remains determined to live a fulfilling life, and charts her own course to happiness. Working alongside Kat at the cafe are Randi, a confident millennial and self-proclaimed "non" cat person; and Phil, who recently broke up with his longtime partner. Although Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans may begin to veer off-course, when her former crush and good friend, Max, returns to town and takes a job as a bartender at the piano bar across the street, working with his friend, Carter. CALL ME KAT premiered on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on FOX, and then moved to its regular timeslot -- Thursdays at 9pm -- beginning January 7.

CALL ME KAT returned for its second season on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on FOX before moving to its regular timeslot -- Thursdays at 9pm -- beginning January 13. In the season premiere, "Call Me Kerfuffled," when a celebrity charity golf tournament comes to Louisville, it brings the cast of BLOSSOM together for a long-awaited reunion. Meanwhile, Kat struggles with a romantic crisis and Randi and Phil get help in the cafe from a customer.

The third season of CALL ME KAT premiered on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 9:30pm ET/PT on FOX. In the season opener "Call Me Ken Jennings," after taking some time to travel and decompress, Kat is on her way back to Louisville when she is upgraded to first class and seated next to JEOPARDY!'s winningest contestant, Ken Jennings, on her flight home. Upon arrival, she discovers some significant changes have been made to the cafe by Randi and Phil and Randi's passion for her job is now straining her relationship with Carter. Max has returned home from his time in Nashville pursuing his music career, with cowboy boots and a big ego to go along with them. After a four-week break, CALL ME KAT returned with new episodes on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 9:30pm ET/PT on FOX. In the winter premiere, "Call Me Philliam," Phil's mother (guest star Vicki Lawrence) shows up at Kat's Cafe to fill in as baker while Phil is away.
