Plot Synopsis
After writing a celebrated bestseller, jaded New Yorker Hank Moody moves to Los Angeles, California. When his novel is turned into a frivolous romantic comedy and his marriage falls apart, he finds himself unable to write and depressed. Soothing his anger with alcohol and aimless sexual encounters, he desperately tries to get his life back on track. In the show's sixth season, the infamous rock groupie Faith developed an unconventional relationship with Hank, while he worked with Atticus Fetch, a mad-as-a-hatter rock star, who was writing the music for the Broadway production of A CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE, a film whose screenplay was adapted from Hank's hit novel, "God Hates Us All." Season 6 premiered on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 10:30pm ET on Showtime.

CALIFORNICATION returned for its seventh and final season on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at 9:30pm ET/PT on Showtime. The new season picks up where last season left off, after Hank wisely reconsidered leaving on a jet plane (Air Force 69) with Atticus to instead hop aboard a bike to rekindle the fire with Karen. Now, their happy ending may be mucked up by the re-appearance of old friend Julia, whose return may cause an irreversible rift in the Hank/Karen ballad. Meanwhile, Hank is preoccupied as "Santa Monica Cop" is being developed into a TV series of the same name, and he's been hired by old-school producer Rick Rath to join the writer's room to help bang out scripts for a show with executive producer Stu Beggs in charge. The one person banking on Hank's success is his agent-best friend Charlie, whose prowess in the bedroom with newly reconciled wife Marcy hangs on landing that 10% commission: the Runkles are broke. Showtime premiered the series finale on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 9:30pm ET/PT, with Hank at a crossroads between his muse/long-time love Karen and old fling Julia; daughter Becca and new son Levon; and stuck between best friends Charlie and Marcy.
