BURIED IN THE BACKYARD is a one-hour docuseries that examines true-crime stories of victims found buried in the most unsuspecting of places. While most people enjoy their backyard as a safe haven, others are not so lucky when they discover the horrors lurking beneath well-trimmed hedges and manicured fences. Uncovering the remains is only the beginning, however, as each hour-long episode follows a unique police investigation to identify the body, determine a cause of death and find the person responsible. Captivating recreations, along with first-hand accounts from those closest to the victims and law enforcement agents involved in the case, bring each shocking tale to life. As investigators dig into the "how" and "why" surrounding each crime, viewers are taken on an unpredictable journey and reminded that this could happen to anyone -- in any home, in any neighborhood.

On Monday, May 13, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, Oxygen premiered the second season of BURIED IN THE BACKYARD. In the season opener, "Guilt or Innocence," when the body parts of two missing teens are found in a backyard cornfield, Ohio detectives uncover dark family secrets to track their suspect. The community fears there may never be justice when the man convicted of the crime is released from prison.

Season 3 of BURIED IN THE BACKYARD premiered on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT on Oxygen. Each episode continues to explore a chilling police investigation in which a victim is found buried in the most unexpected place, from the initial jaw-dropping 911 call to detectives desperately looking for answers to ultimately get justice. In the season opener, "Blood in the Backyard," Bonnie Gamboa and her newborn inexplicably vanish from their California home. When blood is discovered in their backyard, a grieving father's world is flipped upside down and scrutinized. Investigators race against the clock to bring this mother and child home before it's too late, but in an astonishing twist, an unexpected suspect and a motive built around deception and lies leave investigators and family members stunned. Subsequent episodes chronicle: the shock of finding a loved one's deceased body is one thing, but what happens when the body is found buried in your own home, deep in your backyard, or in the woods by your house where the kids like to play; and a roller coaster of emotions describing the harrowing details of how a body could be found in a place so surprising that even the investigators are startled.

The fourth season of BURIED IN THE BACKYARD debuted on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on Oxygen. In the season opener, "Buried in Money," the luckiest moment in a man's life gives way to a dark mystery when he vanishes after winning a multi-million-dollar lottery.

In the season opener, "Storm of the Century," a beloved Missouri couple is thought to be swept away in a record-breaking deadly storm, but when a closer look at the family farm points to foul play, law enforcement searches for clues long since washed away.
