Plot Synopsis
Chef Michael Symon travels across the United States, searching for America's most unique and its best burgers, beer and barbeque -- sometimes with the help of guest celebrity chefs. In Nashville, Michael visits a new burger joint that encourages you to construct your own custom creations. And while in the Music City, the local tradition is hot chicken, which has Michael pushing his personal limits to find out just how much spicy chicken he can take. In New York City, special guest Bobby Flay joins Michael as they visit an over-the-top BBQ joint for a Brontosaurus Beef Rib. Mario Batali also joins Michael as they try one of his favorite late-night indulgences at New York City's most classic burger joint. And a family friend and fellow chef, Alex Guarnaschelli, joins Michael at one of his favorite Manhattan spots, where they combine a bottomless beer selection with high-octane hot dogs. Near his hometown in Northeast Ohio, Michael meets a former NFL star whose top secret ribs de-boning process was inspired by his wife who doesn't like getting messy. In Cleveland, Michael tackles the mother of all burgers -- the Brunch Burger, topped with massive onion rings and an over easy egg. And staying in NE Ohio, Michael visits a newcomer who is pushing the boundaries of pub food and house-made brews.
The sophomore season of BURGERS, BREW & 'QUE premiered on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:30pm ET/PT on Food Network. In Austin, Texas, Michael visits one of the city's oldest buildings, where a restaurant's Barbecue Benedict have people coming back for more. No trip to Austin is complete without getting your taco on, but a local spot also serves some of the best local brews in the city. During the season Michael also heads to New Orleans to try a kim chi burger, blue crab beignets, and a restaurant in the heart of the French Quarter that has a selection of some of the best craft brews in The Big Easy. And who says you can't find good BBQ on the east coast, as Michael visits Brooklyn for a new spin on some classic burgers; while a local Pitmaster in Redhook, Brooklyn, shows Michael his take on sticky ribs and banh mi. Meanwhile, a stop at a local brewery in Hoboken, New Jersey, has patrons salivating over Eastern European cuisine at this authentic beer garden. In the season opener, "Smoked and Stacked," Duff Goldman makes a guest appearance at Michael Symon's favorite Baton Rouge, LA smokehouse that boasts a pork belly hoagie so outrageous it has to be shared. Next up in St. Louis, a big fat Greek burger ignites Michael's cultural soul, and in Austin, he indulges in pit-roasted meats and spicy salsa atop the freshest tortillas this side of the border.
