Plot Synopsis

BUBBA-Q is a reality series that follows Robert 'Bubba' Kolbasowski, as he and his family design and build over-the-top custom grills for their demanding clients. Working out of Bubba's Texas BBQ, a bar/restaurant in Philadelphia's Fishtown, Bubba works with: his older brother, Fobo, who loves barbecue almost as much as he loves beer; his sister-in-law, Arlene, who runs a tattoo shop while designing artwork for Bubba's creations and then painting them; his son, Bobby, who has an engineering degree from Fairleigh Dickinson; his longtime friend, Barry, who is a metal fabricator capable of turning almost anything into a custom barbecue; and his business manager, Lonni, a Philly local who makes sure this team of good ol' boys doesn't get out of control. Whether they're working on a new project, dealing with a broken-down pickup, or improving their image, during each 30-minute episode, Bubba and his team create a one-of-a-kind Bubba-Q for one client, including: the Simeone Automotive Foundation, for whom they create a drivable custom cooker with gasoline, a blazing firebox and a driver all in the same barbecue smoker; TNT Amusements, as they're tasked with making a custom Bubba-Q out of a real pinball machine that must cook the four phases of barbecue but still have some of the functions of the original arcade game; a client they meet at a local gun range, who wants a gun-themed Bubba-Q with a supercharged potato cannon; the Philadelphia Record Exchange, which orders a jukebox-themed Bubba-Q that can cook 24 chickens at once; and many more companies who each order a one-of-a-kind Bubba-Q.
