Plot Synopsis

Based in Charleston, South Carolina, BREAKING BLAND is a half-hour reality series that follows interior designer Mary Welch Fox Stasik, as she helps clients create living spaces that express their individuality and design aesthetic with pizazz and confidence. Mary, who once worked for top interior designers in New York, uses her eclectic, big-city style to create colorful custom designs that are authentic to each client and pushes them way out of their comfort zone. During each episode, Mary cracks design boundaries and encourage clients to eschew traditional looks to create truly personalized dream homes. BREAKING BLAND premiered on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 9-10pm ET/PT on HGTV, with back-to-back episodes:

"Copper, Blue and a Wet Bar Too" (9pm): An adventurous family of four loves their home, and they want to bring out its Charleston spirit without all the traditional decor. Mary pushes them to take some risks with a design that infuses their home with a bold, colorful and modern vibe.

"Making a Forever Home Fit" (9:30pm): A pair of high school sweethearts needs a fun and stylish upgrade so that their tall family doesn't outgrow their forever home. Along with some functional changes, Mary transforms their kitchen, main bath and mudroom into custom and chic spaces.
