Plot Synopsis

Each 70-minute episode of BREAKING AMISH: LA: EXTENDED EPISODE is a single installment from the second season of BREAKING AMISH, which takes place in Los Angeles, with never-before-seen footage, extending each program by 10 minutes. BREAKING AMISH is a reality series that follows the lives of Mennonite and Amish men and women, as they experience life outside of their communities for the first time. The stakes are incredibly high because each of them faces being shunned with possible rejection, criticism and even exile from their family''s homes and their community. However, all of them feel they will never be at peace in their community unless they know what lies beyond their religious dress, head coverings, horse & buggies and the simple life. BREAKING AMISH: LA includes these young adults: Betsy, a 21-year-old Amish woman from Ohio, who recently married an Amish man but continues to struggle with being a member of the community; Devon, a 21-year-old Amish man from Indiana, who is still living at home with his Amish parents and is interested in experiencing life with the English before making a final decision about his future; Iva, a 19-year-old woman from Pennsylvania, whose father left the community after his divorce; Lizzie, a 21-year-old Amish woman from Pennsylvania, who tried to forge a life outside the community and is harboring a secret that makes her want to set on a new life journey; and Matt, a 24-year-old Mennonite from Pennsylvania, who is exploring his interest in fashion design to discover if it will set him on the same path as his two siblings who have already left the community.
