Plot Synopsis

BRAINSTORMERS three Colorado-based backyard geniuses -- a father (Poppy), son (Ryan) and his friend (Bill) -- who are on a quest to build and test inventions that fight bad weather and harness its power for everyday use, while doing it on a budget. From their homegrown workshop, these three guys tackle weather issues from across the country, sometimes starting from scratch and sometimes helping other backyard inventors improve their projects. Whether they're creating a homemade mosquito trap, building a solar water heater, or fixing a nearby town's wind generator, every build is filled with challenges and the road to success is filled with setbacks and revelations. Poppy is recently retired, but spends most of his time inventing, building, and testing his latest creations in hopes of finding ways to help farmers and possibly change the world for the better. His son, Ryan, is a real estate agent and local fireman, who, in his spare time, helps local farmers and people in need develop backyard creations to make dealing with untimely weather conditions that come with living 7,600 feet above sea level a little easier. Ryan's best friend, Bill, served his country as an Air Force F-16 mechanic and is a great engineer who gets Poppy and Ryan through some difficult builds.
