Plot Synopsis

BODY CAM COPS is a one-hour docuseries that features some of the most controversial and breath-taking crimes caught on body camera along with interviews with the people involved including officers facing crazed killers to innocent members of the public being wrongfully arrested. Across the world police officers film the crimes they investigate and the criminals they catch in the act, which means that every camera has a story to tell -- and police forces worldwide can learn from every frame of footage recorded. BODY CAM COPS made its U.S. linear television debut with back-to-back episodes on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 9-11pm ET/6-8pm PT on ReelzChannel:

"Manhunt" (Monday, July 22, 2024 at 9pm ET/6pm PT): Across the world policing has key characteristics: find criminal, catch criminal, arrest criminal. But the reality of each case can be scary and dangerous, as most criminals have no intention of being brought to justice. In Grand Rapids, MI we have exclusive access to the police officers involved in the manhunt and capture of a dangerous and desperate felon. He breaks free from a stun gun and hides from officers on a building site. Finally, he makes a break for freedom and attacks an officer. In the UK police are taken by surprise by a man and his Samurai sword. An officer is stabbed and it's a race to the hospital to save his life. In Glendale, AZ an officer on a routine call is suddenly faced with a man intent on killing. Shots are fired as the cop is forced into oncoming traffic with the crazed knifeman in pursuit. While in Brazil we interview the dog handler who single-handedly tracked down two armed robbers who tried to escape arrest in the jungle.

"Killers Chased Down & Wrongful Arrests" (Monday, July 22, 2024 at 10pm ET/6pm PT): Policing is one of the toughest careers on Earth and sometimes even the most earnest of cops get it wrong. When they do the ramifications are massive. Their actions can taint every officer on the force and change lives for ever. Some crimes are so violent and so personally motivated that every cop involved and person affected will never forget the events. We have access to cops in South Euclid, Ohio who chase down a wanted man, corner him in Lake Eerie and bring him down. Only then do they learn how dangerous and murderous he really is. In Sao Paulo, Brazil we have the moment a gang of kidnappers are brought down by flash police raids. One of the most prolific cities in the world for kidnapping, cops here are experts at tracking these criminals down, but every raid is dangerous. In Savannah, GA cops get it wrong, very wrong. This time police body cameras act as the gatekeeper. Proving the action of officers to be wrong and saving an innocent man from going to jail for no justifiable reason. In South Africa motorbike cops never give up. We have amazing footage of a chase through a township with the officer firing at the gang's car and finally bringing it to a halt, all on his own.

"Capture Glasses" (Monday, July 29, 2024 at 9pm ET/6pm PT): In South Carolina, a cop is shot at point blank range. His capture glasses record everything as he fights for his life and ordinary members of the public come to his rescue. In Spain the police have a not-so-secret-weapon, The Gangster Catcher of Europe. She is not only determined to bring every criminal to justice she is also very good at her job. Hear from her and the moment one of her most high-profile cases is cracked as she tracks down a dangerous British fugitive who escaped from a UK court and went on the run in Spain for years. In Clovis, NM a cop is faced with a strange traffic stop. A man on a bike, riding at night with no lights. Everything is going well until the man flees. The officer chases him down and takes a bullet for his efforts. Not every incident police are called to involves a criminal. In Charlotte, MI police are called to a house fire. A family are stuck inside and the brave cops have to get everyone out before the place erupts in flames.

"Cop 'copter" (Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10pm ET/7pm PT): Police work is a varied job. It varies day to day and country to country. The only guarantee is that no two days are the same. This means the men and women doing the job have to be highly trained to face every eventuality. Chile is home to one of the driest regions on Earth. When things go wrong in the Atacama Desert the impact can be intense and deadly. This is why Chile's police rescue helicopters are often the first line of defense. We have exclusive footage from the worst flood in recent times that devastated an entire region, destroyed families and changed lives forever. In Grand Rapids cops on a routine truancy petrol come across a wanted man. But he doesn't come peacefully and instead officers are involved in a deadly shoot-out. Police bodycams in the US are recording when an innocent nurse is wrongfully arrested in one of the most notorious pieces of footage from 2017. BODY CAM COPS has the interview with Nurse Wubbles who fought the law and won. Traffic stops are bread and butter to police patrols and should be straight forward when the offender is driving at night with no lights. But officers in Ohio weren't expecting the verbal bashing they got one night when their traffic stop went wild.
