Plot Synopsis

BODIES IN THE WATER is a one-hour docuseries that explores murders, where the body is discovered in a lake, bay, sea, or ocean. On Monday, July 8, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery debuted the series pilot, the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In this special premiere, "An Ocean of Secrets," a missing high school student is found shackled in chains off the shore of Cape May, and investigators are baffled by what kind of monster could commit such a heinous murder. Their investigation leads them to uncover jealous boyfriends and turmoil within the victim's foster family that sends shockwaves throughout the tightknit community.
