Plot Synopsis

#BLACKLOVE is a one-hour reality series that follows five black women from New York City -- including newly single Monet Bell from Season 1 of MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT -- as they embark on a unique journey to uncover what they are doing wrong when it comes to finding love and discover the issues that have held them back from finding a fulfilling and loving relationship. In each episode of #BLACKLOVE, the women attend workshops on provocative themes related to love. With the guidance of two relationship experts -- certified dating coach and author Damona Hoffman and psychotherapist and author Jack A. Daniels -- the women dig deep into the issues surrounding their inability to find a mate. Then, they go through a variety of dating scenarios, including finding love after divorce, same-sex relationships and interracial love. The experts provide commentary about what each woman is doing right -- and wrong -- as they navigate their way through the dating scene. The five women include: Tennesha Wood, a 30-year-old regional sales manager, who was reared in the Midwest with strong Caribbean roots; Laree 'LA' Thomas, a 35-year-old travel consultant, who is a fan of chivalrous gestures like opening car doors and loathes modern day back and forth text conversations, choosing to converse face-to-face; Jahmil 'Jae' Eady, a 26-year-old web developer, who dates both men and women, and is looking to meet a partner who is both successful and mature; Cynthia Branch, a 38-year-old licensed social worker and life coach, whose marriage of several years recently ended and has two teenage children to worry about; and Monet Bell, a 34-year-old apparel product developer, whose ideal type of man is intelligent, enterprising and a gentlemen.

FYI premiered the season finale of #BLACKLOVE on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 10:30pm ET/PT. Despite having gone through a life changing process in the past ten weeks, the women still have issues to resolve before the week is up in order for them to get their love lives in check. Monet realizes she has one final piece of her failed marriage to let go of before she can truly move on. Tennesha is feeling the pressure of her parents meeting Errol, and considers ending their relationship if the meeting doesn't go well. Laree is at a crossroads with Karl, as she wants to move out of the country, but he is very hesitant to join her. Will he move with her? Or will it be the end of the road for them?
