Plot Synopsis

This three-part limited series is a special television event of the 2023 theatrical film BLACKBERRY, which was adapted from Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff's book, "Losing the Signal: The Untold Story Behind the Extraordinary Rise and Spectacular Fall of BlackBerry." BLACKBERRY tells the story of the meteoric rise and catastrophic demise of the world's first smartphone. With 16 minutes of never-before-seen footage, BLACKBERRY: THE MINISERIES aired in three parts on November 13, 14 and 15, 2023 on AMC, with all three episodes available on AMC+ on November 13:

Episode 1 (Monday, November 13, 2023 on AMC+; Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10pm on AMC): Mike Lazaridis and Doug Fregin pitch their idea of combining a computer with a cellphone to Jim Balsillie; Jim comes on board, and they try to sell their idea.

Episode 2 (Monday, November 13, 2023 on AMC+; Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 10pm on AMC): BlackBerry hits the market; Mike and Jim try to avoid a hostile takeover; Jim strategizes to increase sales.

Episode 3 (Monday, November 13, 2023 on AMC+; Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10pm on AMC): Apple announces the iPhone; Mike scrambles to please Verizon; Jim is unreachable trying to make a personal business deal; the Securities and Exchange Commission investigates the company.
