Plot Synopsis

BLACK INK CREW: CHICAGO is a one-hour reality series that follows a group of friends and co-workers at 9Mag, a Windy City tattoo shop that is a mecca for hip hop elites, celebrities and athletes. The crew includes: Ryan, the owner of 9Mag, who created the business as a legacy to his late sister and niece; Kat, the shop's female tattoo artist, who is the "little sister" of the shop and flirts shamelessly with Phor -- but finds it hard to commit to him because of her ambitious career goals; tattoo artist Phor, who burns the candle at both ends, tattooing, spending time in the studio, and, of course, partying with his 9Mag family; event planner Charmaine, whose flirtatious nature creates tension and drama in the shop, especially between Don and his girlfriend, Ashley; Don, Phor's little brother and assistant, who tries to maintain his focus so he can provide for Ashley and their two-year-old son, DJ; receptionist Danielle, who is Charmaine's cousin and Kat's former college roommate; and Van, Ryan's former business rival, who got his start tattooing from his mom's basement and took his business to another level when he partnered with Ryan.
