Plot Synopsis

Created and written by Anne Bjornstad and Eilif Skodvin, BILLIONAIRE ISLAND is a six-episode drama series that centers on two families in a small coastal community in Norway, who are sworn enemies in the global salmon industry. Julie Lange, the head of Marlax, plans a hostile takeover of a local competitor, Meyer Fjordbruk, to become the world's largest salmon producer. All six episodes of BILLIONAIRE ISLAND dropped on Thursday, September 12, 2024 on Netflix:

"Hostile Takeover": Julie Lange, head of salmon producer Marlax, sets her sights on rival company Meyer Fjordbruk after one of its main shareholders dies.

"Desert Salmon": Amy investigates an act of sabotage. Gjert uses Ole's funeral to stall Julie's takeover bid. Hennie takes her friends out in her new boat.

"Big Bait for a Big Fish": A surprise offer makes Amy rethink her future, while JJ gets disappointing news about his big break. Gjert seeks spiritual guidance.

"Walk of Shame": Julie suspects there's another player in the acquisition battle. When Eigil gets in over his head, Trine makes a drastic move to save him.

"Happy Halloween": JJ's drama teacher reveals an upsetting truth. Julie confronts Amy about her decision to leave Marlax. Trine's overconfidence has consequences.

"Queen of Solitaire": With the Marlax general assembly underway, Amy enlists Hennie's help to sway the vote. Gjert makes a final play from prison.
