Plot Synopsis

A group of people are isolated from the outside world and live together 24/7 in a house that's outfitted with multiple cameras and microphones that capture every move 24 hours a day. In the first 14 seasons, the HouseGuests were: complete strangers (Seasons 1-3, 10); exes (Season 4); twins & siblings (Season 5); silent partners (Season 6); all-stars (Season 7); enemies (Season 8); soulmates (Season 9); high-school cliques (Season 11); regular contestants with a saboteur (Season 12); regular contestants with past BIG BROTHER duos returning (Season 13); four of the most successful BIG BROTHER players from past seasons (Season 14).

Season 15, which premiered on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS, featured two twists: (1) three HouseGuests are nominated for eviction, and (2) America plays an important role by voting weekly for the BB MVP. BB15 was broadcast three nights weekly: Sundays at 8pm ET/PT, starting June 30; Tuesdays at 9pm ET/PT, starting July 2; and the live eviction show on Wednesdays at 8pm live ET/delay PT, starting July 3. Season 15 featured these 16 new HouseGuests competing for the $500,000 grand prize: Kaitlin Barnaby, a 23-year-old bartender from Minneapolis, MN; Spencer Clawson, a 31-year-old railroad conductor from Conway, AR; Judd Daugherty, a 26-year-old property appraiser from Etowah, TN; David Girton, a 25-year-old lifeguard from San Diego, CA; Aaryn Gries, a 22-year-old college student from San Marcos, TX; Andy Herren, a 26-year-old professor from Chicago, IL; Helen Kim, a 37-year-old political consultant from Chicago, IL; Jessie Kowalski, a 25-year-old from San Antonio, TX; Jeremy McGuire, a 23-year-old boat-shop associate from Katy, TX; McCrae Olson, a 23-year-old pizza-delivery person from Oak Grove, MN; Howard Overby, a 29-year-old youth counselor from Hattiesburg, MS; Elissa Slater, a 27-year-old nutritionist from Kannapolis, NC; Candice Stewart, a 29-year-old pediatric speech therapist from Houston, TX; Nick Uhas, a 28-year-old entrepreneur from New York, NY; GinaMarie Zimmerman, a 32-year-old pageant coordinator from Staten Island, NY; and Amanda Zuckerman, a 28-year-old real-estate agent from Boynton Beach, FL.

BIG BROTHER returned for its sixteenth season on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS, with the first of its three weekly broadcasts. The Thursday edition, featuring the live eviction show, premiered June 26 (9-10pm) with the first eviction the following week (July 3). The Sunday broadcast premieres June 29 (8-9pm). Season 16 has two new twists. First, two Houseguests will win the coveted role of Head of Household (HOH) each week, and will have the responsibility of nominating two fellow Houseguests for eviction; however, for the first time on the series, earning HOH will not guarantee one's safety in the game for the week. With the second twist, fans can influence the game from home with a new interactive element called "Team America," where viewers can vote online (http://cbs.com/bbteamamerica) for which of the new Houseguests they would like to form an alliance with. Plus, Season 16 introduces a new competition, "Battle of the Block," which will dramatically shift the power in the house each week.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 8-9pm ET/PT, CBS premiered the 17th season of BIG BROTHER. This summer's "BB Takeover" twist features a surprise guest each week who appears on the show to announce a new twist into the game. Expecting the unexpected will be taken to new heights as Houseguests attempt to stay in the game amid the ever-changing twists that shake up life inside the house on a weekly basis. A special guest appear on each night of the two-night premiere and reveal twists that could affect the cast and viewers.

Season 18 of BIG BROTHER premiered on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 8-10pm ET/PT on CBS, with 12 houseguests competing for $500,000. In the new season, the houseguests will spend a record 99 days inside the house, where the theme is "Summer Vacation," showcasing design elements and decor that celebrate travel and the best summer vacation destinations. The house features exotically themed bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, plus a completely redesigned backyard with a new pool, hot tub and gym equipment.

CBS premiered the 19th season of BIG BROTHER with a two-night premiere on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT and Thursday, June 29 at 9pm. This season features a new twist, "Summer of Temptation," where the Houseguests will be challenged like never before as they embark on a season of tempting offers that could give them money, power and safety in the game. But, they will need to be careful, because for every temptation taken, there will be a consequence to face. This season's house reflects the temptation twist with words like Money and Revenge hanging on the wall, constantly reminding the Houseguests that the game never stops. In the premiere episode, Houseguests will face a BIG BROTHER first as they encounter tempting offers for money, power and safety that could change the course of the game on the very first night. In addition to the Twists being revealed during the two-hour premiere, a new twist, the "Den of Temptation," will be unveiled in the first Sunday episode, July 2 at 8pm ET/PT. America will vote on which Houseguest they would like to send into the "Den of Temptation" to be enticed by a potentially game-changing offer. But it's always a game of risk vs. reward, as every temptation will unleash a consequence on the house. Following the two-night premiere, BIG BROTHER will air Sundays from 8-9pm, beginning July 2; Wednesdays from 8-9pm, beginning July 5; and Thursdays from 9-10pm, beginning July 6, featuring the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen.

BIG BROTHER returned for its milestone 20th season with a three-hour, two-night premiere on Wednesday, June 27 (8-10pm) and Thursday, June 28, 2018 (9-10pm). Sixteen all-new Houseguests face unexpected twists and upgraded power in a house inspired by Silicon Valley. The competition kicks off immediately on premiere night with three challenges that yield a game-changing power -- and two unprecedented punishments. In addition, a new tech-themed twist, the "BB App Store," will be unveiled in the first Sunday episode, July 1, when America will have a chance to get the Houseguests trending, resulting in power apps or punishments that could crash their game.

Julie Chen Moonves returns as host for the new season, which follows a new group of people living together in a house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and more than 113 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, someone is voted out of the house, with the last remaining Houseguest receiving the grand prize of $500,000. Following the two-night premiere, BIG BROTHER is broadcast Sunday, June 30 from 8-9pm and Tuesday, July 2 from 8-9pm. The first live eviction airs Wednesday, July 3. As of Wednesday, July 10, the show moves to its regular schedule of Wednesdays from 9-10pm, Thursdays, featuring the live evictions 9-10pm ET(live)/PT(tape) and Sundays from 8-9pm. This season, BIG BROTHER brings the great outdoors to the Houseguests as they embark on their journey living in a house inspired by summer camp, featuring surprises and camp-themed competitions. Houseguests beware: with the return of Zingbot, marshmallows won't be the only thing getting roasted this season. Building on the camp theme, this season the BIG BROTHER house gets a great outdoors makeover as the 16 new houseguests "rough" it in a contemporary A-frame-styled cabin lodge.

BIG BROTHER debuts its 22nd season with an All-Star cast who have one thing in common -- they all have something to prove. The two-hour live move-in premiere event will air Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 9-11pm ET (live)/PT (tape) on CBS. This summer marks BIG BROTHER's 20th anniversary since debuting on CBS on July 5, 2000. Season 22 is the second time in the series' history to feature an All-Star cast, the first being in 2006. The All-Star cast was revealed as they move into the house during the 2-hour live premiere event. BIG BROTHER once again has three weekly episodes. Following the premiere, the series will air Sundays and Wednesdays from 8-9pm ET/PT, and Thursdays 8-9pm ET (live)/PT (tape), featuring the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen Moonves. The All-Star houseguests, including winners, finalists, legends, memorable personalities and some of the best to never win the game, will be announced closer to premiere. The BIG BROTHER production follows specific health and safety protocols for COVID-19 with the welfare of everyone involved as the highest priority. Houseguests undergo a quarantine period prior to production and are tested several times prior to entering the House. Once inside, they are tested weekly during the season and have no contact with any crew members, and all delivered supplies are disinfected. In addition, the live show does not have a studio audience. All staff and crew members are tested prior to commencing work on a regular basis, as well as screened daily for symptoms. They are required to wear PPE and work in pods to enhance social distancing. In addition, a COVID-19 compliance officer is on staff to monitor and enforce all health and safety COVID-19 protocols.

Season 23 of BIG BROTHER premiered on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 8-9:30pm ET/PT on CBS. The new season follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, someone will be voted out of the house, with the last remaining Houseguest receiving the grand prize of $500,000. This season's cast includes a Flight Attendant, Make-Up Artist, Start-up Founder, Farmer, Kindergarten Teacher, Forensic Scientist and an Attorney, among others. This all-new group is in for a high-stakes summer full of Big Risks and Big Rewards, where one wrong gamble could cost them everything. By the end of the premiere episode, for the first time in BIG BROTHER history, the Houseguests will be presented with a double-or-nothing offer that may be too good to refuse. Beginning Sunday, July 11, the series airs Sundays and Wednesdays from 8-9pm and Thursdays 8-9pm ET (live)/8-9pm PT (tape), featuring the live eviction show hosted by Julie Chen Moonves. The 16 new Houseguests move into the mid-century Palm Springs inspired "BB Motel" during the live 90-minute premiere event. This season's cast includes an attorney, a Vegas performer, a hypnotherapist, a private chef, a chemical processing engineer, an interior designer and a personal stylist, among others. With never-before-seen challenges, these 16 Houseguests are in for the summer of their lives at "BB Fest." Also, a new twist will send the Houseguests scrambling, and, beginning on premiere night, the opportunity for America to vote will impact the game.
