Plot Synopsis
Contractor Marnie Oursler gives outdated beach houses a new lease on life, making beach-living dreams come true -- even for people with a modest budget -- near Bethany Beach, Delaware. From gorgeous decks that make the most of ocean views, to beach glass inspired kitchens and customized sand-friendly spaces, she's taking classic beach houses that have been around forever and giving them modern updates while still preserving their charm. On Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 7pm ET/PT DIY Network premiered the pilot episode of BIG BEACH BUILDS, with the program returning 14 months later for its official series premiere with back-to-back episodes on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 9-10pm ET/PT. In the series opener (9pm), "Amazing A-frame," a couple turns to Marnie to help them transform their shabby A-frame retreat into a beautiful family beach home. But when Marnie discovers the house is held up by broken cinderblocks, she must use her creativity and a little help from her dad to bring the house back to life. In the night's second episode (9:30pm), "The Beach Gut," a couple transports a 60-year-old house to a plot of land near the beach in the hopes it can be transformed into the perfect beach getaway. It's up to Marnie and her team to completely renovate the retired home while keeping the rustic charm and integrity from the 1960s.

The eight-episode second season of BIG BEACH BUILDS premiered on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as DIY Network debuted back-to-back new episodes:
"Blown-Out Beach House" (9pm): A family with many fond memories of summer vacations in their Lewes, Delaware, beach house finds that their cottage's awkward layout isn't working. Marnie begins maximizing the space by vaulting the ceiling and designing a new open-concept layout for the kitchen and living room. She also includes more sleeping space for the children by designing custom bunk beds.
"No Longer Grandma's House" (9:30pm): After inheriting his family's Cape Cod cottage in Bethany Beach, Delaware, a man realizes it looks like grandma still lives in the home. Marnie steps in with a plan to bring the house up to date that includes ripping out the old wood paneling and more. In the end, the home receives the beautiful, beachy and modern renovation it so desperately needed.
