Plot Synopsis

BIG & LITTLE is a two-part special that follows two morbidly obese little people -- Ayanna Brown and Chuck Love -- who face unique challenges on their weight loss journey, as they are led by fitness guru and fellow little person Allison Warrell. Chuck, a 30-year-old overweight little person, wants to get his life back on track. His social life is non-existent, he hasn't worked in years, and everyday tasks like putting on socks are increasingly difficult. Also overweight and little, Ayanna is 24 years old and struggles to keep up in her studies to become a medical technician. Under the supervision of Allison, both Chuck and Ayanna take baseline body mass index measurements and find out that they are considered "morbidly obese," the most severe designation of weight relative to height. After spending some time in their lives and raiding their refrigerators, Allison puts them on a diet and exercise plan. Chuck struggles to become accustomed to exerting himself in the gym and attempts martial arts training as an alternative. Ayanna unburdens to Allison about her deep insecurities stemming from her size and weight, and strengthens her resolve to succeed. In the first installment, "Wider Than I Am Tall," the duo continue to face the challenges of being little in an average-sized world that makes their goal seemingly impossible. One week later in the finale, "Don't Want a Freak Show," having made big weight losses since last seeing Allison, Ayanna looks to build momentum. Chuck has also made solid progress gets derailed after injuring his knee during a workout.
