Plot Synopsis
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER is a one-hour, fish-out-of-water reality series that follows William Shatner, Henry Winkler, Terry Bradshaw and George Foreman on their greatest adventure yet. Deciding it's better late than never, these four icons embark on the journey of a lifetime, traveling across Asia on their own -- with no schedule and no itinerary. The only help comes from Jeff Dye, a young tech-savvy comedian with an agenda of his own and who isn't above leading the men off track. The first stop on their six-city, four-country Asian tour is Tokyo, Japan, where they can't even find their way out of the train station. Highlights of their visit include staying at a capsule hotel, appearing on a popular Japanese morning show, trying crazy culinary delicacies, and visiting the top of the world-famous Tokyo Tower. Then they are off to see Mt. Fuji on an unforgettable karaoke bus trip that completes the first leg of their life-changing, international excursion. Next, the adventure-seeking five visit Kyoto, Japan, a magical ancient city where William is determined to "find his Zen." They begin with a trip to a Geisha house, where they eat and drink -- and drink some more -- and later they visit a Samurai warrior school as well as a no-nonsense monk who whips the guys into shape. Then they're off to Hong Kong, where William makes sure they live the "high life" and stay at one of the top hotels in the world, rent a yacht, and have custom suits designed by the very best tailors. Later, they visit an ancient Chinese medicine shop for some unusual culinary offerings before hitting the streets for a little song and dance. Season 2 of BETTER LATE THAN NEVER debuted on Monday, January 1, 2018 from 9-11pm ET/PT, with a two-hour season opener: "Sweden: I'm a Viking!" (9pm): A search of Terry's Viking roots uncovers a "Viking Island" that leads to a series of challenges that aren't for the faint of heart. But it's not all fun and games when the friends are confronted with the world's smelliest dish and a strict etiquette class that turns into a complete disaster. George, the world's biggest ABBA fan, gets the surprise of a lifetime by meeting founding member Bjorn. "Lithuania: I'm King of the Castle" (10pm): Bill's in the driver seat as he takes the guys to Lithuania, a place they've never planned to go but it happens to be where his parents grew up. While he seeks to find his family connection, George discovers his own special relationship through, of all things, a goat beauty contest. Bill's big plans lead the guys to stay in an uncomfortable haunted castle and an unpleasant visit to a neighbor country, Russia. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER settled into its regular timeslot -- Mondays at 9pm -- for the rest of the second season, staring January 8.

On Monday, February 5, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT, NBC premiered "To the Sahara and Back," the Season 2 finale of BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. The guys get their groove on with the Gnawa Tribe and bond over a campfire in the Sahara Desert. In Marrakesh, William Shatner treats the guys to lunch before going to hear an authentic Moroccan storyteller. Jeff Dye shows off his stand-up skills and they all reflect on the trip they've had at a final dinner.
