Plot Synopsis

BENEDICT MEN is a 12-part, short-form documentary series that follows the St. Benedict's boys basketball team as they strive to add another New Jersey state championship to their legacy. Along the way under the leadership of Coach Mark Taylor, the team uncovers the true meaning of unity, selflessness, and hard work. The series opens with the new basketball season tipping off, and Taylor on a mission for his team to win a seven championship in eight years. Star player C.J. Wilcher looks to impress college recruiters. Later, with C.J. sidelined, the talented but undisciplined Zarique Nutter is thrust into the spotlight. After Zarique walks out on the team, C.J. steps up and provides leadership; meanwhile, injury-prone senior Madani Diarra makes progress with his knee rehab. BENEDICT MEN premiered on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Quibi released the first three episodes. The fourth episodes debuts Monday, September 21.
