Plot Synopsis

A 10-year-old orphaned girl with supernatural powers and her protector travel across America, changing people in every place they stop as they try to stay one step ahead of the sinister powers after the girl's abilities. Since she was two years old, Bo has had gifts she could neither fully understand, nor control. Bo possesses the powers of levitation, telekinesis, and the ability to control nature, but most importantly she sees people for who they truly are...and who they may become. Raised by a small group known as the True Believers, Bo has been safeguarded from harmful outsiders who would use her forces for personal gain. But now that she is 10, her powers have become stronger and the threat has grown more dangerous. With her life and future now in jeopardy, the Believers turn to the only person they see fit to be her full-time protector, but first they must break him out of jail. Tate, a wrongfully imprisoned death row inmate who's lost his will, is initially reluctant until he witnesses one of her extraordinary abilities, and the duo begin their travels. When Tate escapes from prison, he's helped by Channing, a woman working for Winter, a man with an agenda who is posing as a priest. Once Bo and Tate are on the road, they're being pursued by hitwoman Moore, her right-hand man Corey, and Skouras, a mysterious billionaire with an even more mysterious agenda. BELIEVE is executive produced by J.J. Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron, who won the Oscar for Best Director for GRAVITY, just one week before the series premiered. Plus, Cuaron directed the show's pilot episode. NBC aired a special premiere of this series on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, six days before moving the program to it regular timeslot, Sundays at 9pm ET/PT, on March 16, 2014.
