Plot Synopsis
Set in modern-day America, BEL-AIR is a serialized one-hour dramatic analogue of the '90s sitcom THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR that leans into the original premise: Will's complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. In this reimagined vision, BEL-AIR dives deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions and biases of the world. The first three episodes of BEL-AIR premiere on Super Bowl Sunday (February 13, 2022) on Peacock, with a new episode dropping weekly on Thursdays through March 31.
BEL-AIR returned for its second season on Thursday, February 23, 2023 on Peacock, as the streaming service released the first episode of the new season. A new installment drops each Thursday. Season 2 picks up with Will at a crossroads in his life as a new figure comes into his life who challenges what he's learned in Bel-Air and competes for control of his influence. He juggles this while navigating his home life with the Banks family and trying to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of last season. Will and Carlton's brotherhood starts to evolve as they grow closer, but they still challenge each other about their differences. Hilary evolves as she becomes more of a boss in her influencer world and that spills over into her relationship with Jazz. Plus, the new season highlights the relatable struggles around Viv and Phil balancing marriage and family while trying to forge their own career paths and reconnect to the things that are important to them.
Season 3 of BEL-AIR debuted on Thursday, August 15, 2024 on Peacock, which released the first three episodes of the new season. Three new installments dropped the following Thursday, followed by two more episodes on August 29 and the final two episodes on September 5. The new season is summer season of Bel-Air. No school. No uniforms. Just summer sizzle. Pools, beach parties, bonfires, fireworks, Juneteenth celebrations and lots of summer lovin'. Season 3 explores questions like, how do you prove yourself in a world that views you in limited ways? How do you reach beyond your comfort zone to create new opportunities for yourself? How does a family rebuild broken trust? In the season opener, "Baby, I'm Back," the Banks family host their annual Juneteenth festivities; meanwhile, Will thinks about his future.
