Plot Synopsis

Through unrestricted access to the cell blocks of some of the highest level security prisons in America, "Behind Bars" explores the uncompromising reality of prison life. On the surface, prison life is built upon discipline, but underneath that facade of order is a seedy underworld where every day constitutes a fight for survival. Each episode features a different corrections center, including: Spokane County Jail (Washington); Shelby County Division of Correction (Memphis, Tennessee); Cuyahoga Corrections Center (Cleveland, Ohio).
