Plot Synopsis

BEASTS OF THE BAYOU is a one-hour reality series that follows Captain Blimp Cheramie, his first mate Eric, and his nephew Nathan, as they search the marshes of Louisiana for the legendary creatures that are rumored to haunt the bayou. Passed down from generation to generation, these legends have little proof of their validity, and while this trio tries to find the creatures, teams of scientists are seeking alternative explanations for the sightings. Blimp and his team use all of their expert hunting and tracking skills to uncover the truth, while the scientists rely on a lifetime of research to dispel those very same myths. In each 60-minute episode, the guys search for a different beast, including: Altamaha-ha (aka Alite), a Loch Ness monster-like creature that is rumored to stalk the waterways of the southeast, while Tulane scientists seek evidence for a more logical explanation; the illusive Parlangua, a half-man/half-reptilian gator that supposedly surfaced in Rapides Parish in the 1960s, while herpetologist Shawn Heflick believes the sightings are a result of misinterpretations; and many more creatures, demons and monsters in the bayou.
