Plot Synopsis

BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT is a reality series that follows families as they search for affordable homes that will make their beachfront-living dreams come true. Each 30-minute episode features a different realtor showing three potential beach houses to one of their clients, including: Alisha and Daniel, who, with the help of realtor Dot Small, are looking for a second home on Alabama's Gulf Coast to accommodate their boating and fishing lifestyle and their $215,000 budget; and newly-engaged Lauren and Erik, who, with the help of realtor Mike Godwin, are searching for their first home, a single-family home within steps of a Clearwater beach. HGTV aired back-to-back, sneak-peek episodes of this series on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT. Two months later, HGTV aired back-to-back episodes on consecutive Sundays, November 17 & 24 and December 1 & 8.

BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT returned for its second season on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 8-9pm ET/PT on HGTV. In the night's first episode, a Savannah couple, Stacia and Ryan, viewed four potential properties on the shores of Tybee Island, GA, immediately followed by a second installment that followed workaholics Mike and Sandy Wieber looking for a second home.

On Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT, HGTV broadcast the Season 3 premiere of BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener, real-estate agent Alexandra Rutten shows her best friend, Tania, four potential properties in hot hot hot Miami, looking for a state-of-the-art building with ocean views all for under $300,000. Then in the night's second episode, David and Tiffany met and started their family in St. Thomas, and now they're looking for a starter home under their budget of $350,000.

On Sunday, January 4, 2015, HGTV debuted the official fifth season premiere of BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT, showing back-to-back new episodes from 8-9pm ET/PT, only three days after the cable channel broadcast a Season 5 sneak peek on New Year's Day 2015. In the season opener, a couple wants a relaxing escape in the Jersey Shore, so they search for a villa, but with dogs restricted from most beaches, there may be difficulties. Then, in the night's second episode, a couple hunts for a beachfront home where they can unwind after a busy work week, and they turn their attention toward the Grand Strand in South Carolina.

HGTV premiered the 19th season of BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 8-9pm ET/PT, debuting back-to-back new episodes: "Beachy Style in Ocean Isle" (8pm) and "Chesapeake Out Our Window in Southern Maryland" (8:30pm).

BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT moved to discovery+ for its 28th season on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, as the streaming service released eight half-hour episodes of the new season. In the season opener, "A Promise Kept in Panama City," before they were married, Arun promised Becky they would have a house on the beach someday. Now, 12 years and two children later, life is quite hectic, and it's time for the couple to find a home in Panama City, Florida.

HGTV premiered a new season of BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 10:30pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Beach House Hopes for a First-Time Buyer," a recent graduate relocated to North Carolina to live with her parents, but now she's squirreled enough money away to find a place of her own. With beautiful Kure Beach down the road, she's ready to fulfill her lifelong dream of buying a waterfront home.
