Plot Synopsis
BASKETBALL WIVES follows the lives of best friends, who just happen to be a wife, ex-wife or girlfriend of an NBA superstar, as they juggle their busy lives of raising children, building businesses, and fighting off groupies. The group of women has included: Shaunie O'Neal, who was separated from Shaq at the beginning of the series but is now his ex-wife; Evelyn Lozada, the ex-fiancee of Antoine Walker, with whom she had a 10-year relationship, and the now ex-wife of former NFL player Chad Ochocinco; Suzie Ketcham, an ex-girlfriend of Michael Olowokandi, with whom she had two children; Tami Roman, the ex-wife of Kenny Anderson; Tasha Marbury, who had a scandalous, 17-year marriage to Stephon Marbury; Jennifer Williams, the ex-wife of Eric Williams; Royce Reed, an ex-girlfriend of Dwight Howard; Gloria Govan, former fiancee of Matt Barnes; Meeka Claxton, the wife of Speedy Claxton; Kesha Nichols, the ex-fiancee of Richard Jefferson; and Kenya Bell, the wife of Charlie Bell.
Season 5 of BASKETBALL WIVES debuted on VH1 on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT, as Evelyn took on the media for the first time after an altercation with her now ex-husband, while Tami tried to convince her to give the marriage a second chance. Plus, Suzie and Shaunie returned for the fifth season, while welcoming Evelyn's friend Tasha Marbury to the fold and awaiting the return of a notorious wife from seasons past.
The sixth season of BASKETBALL WIVES premiered on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on VH1. This season, several new faces will join series veterans Evelyn Lozada, Tami Roman, Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo and Shaunie O'Neal. Evelyn Lozada is reunited with longtime friend Shaunie O'Neal, but she quickly discovers that Tami Roman and Jackie Christie are not on the welcoming committee. With the drama swirling, Malaysia Pargo returns to Los Angeles wondering if there will be anything left of the friendships she once knew. Brandi Maxiell also makes an unexpected return to check if her "services are (still) no longer needed." After being labeled the "side chick" in a very publicized celebrity relationship feud, newcomer Keonna Green is ready to move past the tabloid drama. Between buzzy relationship scandals with some of basketball's biggest stars and their sisterhood, the Metoyer Sisters (Aja, Cristen and Melissa) bring their own baggage this season. Also joining the cast is Bonnie-Jill Laflin, the league's first female scout, who may struggle with running into her famous friends' exes.
Season 7 of BASKETBALL WIVES premiered on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on VH1. This season, family ties are tested, emotions explode louder than ever before, and friendships that once seemed rock solid are shaken to the core. The seventh season has everything from unexpected wedding proposals to risque business ventures and some new cast members that give the OG women a run for their money. After 10 years as an athlete, Ogum "OG" enters retirement and decides to pivot from playing football to coaching. Newcomer Feby Torres, is tired of being associated with her famous ex and is determined to make a new name for herself, even if that means making enemies.
Season 9 of BASKETBALL WIVES premiered on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on VH1. This season the wives' sisterhood is tested like never before as they adjust to the pandemic while balancing life's ups and downs, unresolved relationships and the fight against social injustices. After a 5.5-month break, BASKETBALL WIVES returned with new Season 11 episodes on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on VH1. In the mid-season debut, "A Liar's Gonna Lie," Jackie plans a Ponderosa due to current conflict in the group. Jen questions whether she should invite Jackie to her wedding in Paris. Brandi is back in L.A after a challenging year with her family. Evelyn deals with a setback in her clothing line.
