Plot Synopsis

Each weeknight at 10pm ET/7pm PT on NewsNation (formerly WGN America), host Ashleigh Banfield welcomes a big-name celebrity, newsmaker, or public figure for a unique opportunity to talk for an hour, giving them time to have an in-depth discussion on a range of topics. When news and current events warrant it, BANFIELD will cover those, too. Guests during her first week are: Aaron Sorkin (Monday, March 1); Bryan Cranston (Tuesday, March 2); and Keith Olbermann (Wednesday, March 3). Subsequent guests include: Robin Wright, David Zucker, Katie Cole, Mike Rowe, and more.

"This show emulates the format of one of my idols, Larry King -- it's the kind of show that has been missing on primetime television for a long time," said Banfield. "My goal is to listen, not antagonize. There will be no eye-rolling or 'gotcha' questions. Five nights a week, I hope to bring viewers a better understanding of high-profile newsmakers and celebrities around the world, whether they agree with them or not. I think we all need a bit more understanding, now more than ever." Before King's passing, Banfield had hoped he would be her first guest.
