BALLROOM BLITZ is a one-hour reality series takes a look at the world of competitive ballroom dancing, following adults for whom dancing is not just a passion, it's a way of life. For some, the cost of being the best ballroom dancer has no price tag -- they will pay whatever it costs to dance with the best pros, wear the best costumes, and have the biggest hair and makeup. While others must take a more practical approach, working multiple jobs or selling their possessions just to keep up. Each 60-minute episode features a different competition, including: the Colorado Star Ball, where rivals Christina and Annabel prepare for the ultimate ballroom showdown and Tami's constant struggle to stay focused could be her downfall; the Millennium Dancesport Pro/Am Championship, where Broadway producer Richard, and old-fashioned, dedicated dancer, and retired divorcee Shelia seek the top Amateur prize; the Manhattan Dancesport Pro/Am Championship, where housewife Olivia loves bling, but suffers from arthritis, and glitzy salon owner Jacob dances to be fit and release his inner diva; the Desert Classic DanceSport Championship, where affable waitress Rose works overtime to afford dance and flautist Jim is back in show after rehabbing for two years; the Virginia State DanceSport Championship, where single mom Lauren builds her poise dancing and a spunky mom of seven, Pinky, won't let knee pain stop her; and the International Grand Ball Championship, where ballroom virgin Becky is ready to compete and Natasha is engaged to her pro partner. TLC aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, showing six back-to-back episodes from 1-7pm ET/PT.
