Plot Synopsis

Las Vegas' Dirk Vermin, one of America's well-respected tattoo artists, and his best friend, Ruckus, search for Sin City's worst ink jobs so that Dirk can transform their cringe-worthy eyesores into noteworthy masterpieces. Las Vegas often goes hand in hand with people making bad decisions, and regrettable tattoos are permanent reminders of those choices. From rebellious school kids to housewives to grandmothers, in Vegas, no one is immune from waking up and saying "What did I just do?" In BAD INK, Dirk and Ruckus ambush convention goers, tourists, and locals, to inspect their awful art up close and personally. Behind every tattoo is often an amusing tale and sometimes some hideous artwork, but it's Dirk's job to make these tats look terrific by covering up their bad decisions. In each 30-minute episode, Dirk fixes horrific tattoos for two people, including: Jacqui, whose birthday celebration turned into a nightmare she can't forget; Alex, a guy whose failed attempt at professing his love has left him with a tattoo scar that threatens his new relationship; Lavon, who played himself into a tattoo disaster when he tried to impress the ladies with his bad ink; Wendy, who took a trip to Mexico to re-invent herself after a late-in-life divorce; Kristen, whose desperate husband called the guys to stage a tattervention; Jordan, whose story of mixing booze, a blind-fold and a novice tattoo artist turned out to be a bad choice; two college buddies, who want to make their tats even more outrageously bad; Kelly, who regrets the tattoo she got in haste to represent moving on after her breakup; Vanessa, who got a tattoo out of spite and now it's getting in the way of her fitness model career; Josh, who comes in as part of Rufus' prank with a spirit animal that has taken over a private part of his body; a retired cop, whose girlfriend refuses to marry him unless his tattoo goes; Kristen, who got her first tattoo when she was 16 and had to go underground; and many more people with bad ink.

BAD INK returned for its second season on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, as A&E broadcast back-to-back new episodes. In the Season 2 premiere, Dirk and Ruckus ran into Jules, who, after a wild night of partying in Sturgis, got a terrible tattoo in an especially compromising spot as part of a buy-one-get-one-free promotion. Later, they worked with Michael, a former exotic dancer, who wanted to revamp his biggest regret as a 25th anniversary present to his wife.
