Plot Synopsis

BAD BLOOD is an unscripted series that follows families driven apart by heinous crimes as they come together for the first time. In this series, the estranged families confront one another about a crime that rocked the family, uncover new information about the case, and ultimately seek forgiveness for their actions. Each episode of BAD BLOOD -- 30 minutes in Season 1 and 60 minutes in Season 2 -- features one family torn apart by a murder interlaced with commentary from local authorities and experts, culminating in a face-to-face confrontation between two estranged family members. Featured criminals include: Pastor William B. Guthrie, who was charged with the murder of his wife, Sharon, but one of daughters believes it was a suicide, while the other daughter believes it was cold-blooded murder; Kevin Kyne, who was convicted of killing his mother with his bare hands, and is now fighting to clear his name; Police Chief Philip Castagna of Bordentown, NJ, who was accused of attempted murder and plotting to kill his wife, but his sister who has always defended him had her faith shaken by a blistering accusation; James Cosby, who is a suspect in the murder of his daughter Britney and her girlfriend, Crystal Jackson; and many more criminals exposing dark family secrets. BAD BLOOD returned for its second season on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Bloody Secrets," after Winnie Moniz is found lying in a pool of blood in her kitchen, dying of multiple stab wounds, her great-niece Robin Casali is charged with murder. But at trial, a dark secret emerges that recasts the accusation where the family least suspects.

On Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered the Season 2 finale of BAD BLOOD. In the season ender, "Forbidden Love," when Gloria Marmolejo is found in the desert strangled to death, police are at a loss: Who would want this beloved mother, sister and grandmother dead? As they dig deeper, they uncover a dark, family secret that played a sinister role in her murder.
