Plot Synopsis
Executive produced, written, and directed by Tyler Perry, ASSISTED LIVING is a half-hour comedy series that centers on Jeremy, who loses his job and decides to move his young family -- wife Leah, teen daughter Sandra, and teen son Philip -- to the backwoods of Georgia to help his crazy grandfather. Grandpa Vinny has foolishly purchased a terribly run-down home for the elderly and he is in way over his head, but comedy ensues as Mr. Brown and Cora show up at the right time as needy investors.
The sophomore season of ASSISTED LIVING premiered on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 9:30pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. In Season 2, Mr. Brown, Cora, and the gang open their Assisted Living facility and a hilarious variety of personalities come to live in the home. In the season opener, "Bail Buns," the Assisted Living crew band together to get Jeremy released from jail when they catch Sheriff Luckett in a compromising position. After a three-month break, ASSISTED LIVING returned with new episodes on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 8:30pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. In the fall premiere, "Who Are You to Judge," after Jeremy buys a lemon from Mr. Brown, he takes legal action to recoup his loss.
Season 3 of ASSISTED LIVING premiered on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 9:30pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her. In the season opener, "Forgive and Forgive," after Lindor gets arrested, Jeremy tries to assist in getting him released. After a 4.5-month break, ASSISTED LIVING returned with new episodes on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 8:30pm ET/PT on BET and BET Her. In the mid-season debut, "Don't Chi Away," Jeremy is re-assessing the family's financial future with the AL facility not proving very profitable and Sandra about preparing to go off to college.
ASSISTED LIVING returned for its fourth season on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 9:30pm ET/PT on BET, with a simulcast on BET Her and VH1. In the season opener, "I Believe," Philip learns about being accountable for ones actions and putting life's obstacles in perspective. Reginald must pick himself up out of his slump and find the strength to believe in love again. After a 3.5-month break, ASSISTED LIVING returned with new episodes on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 on BET and BET Her, kicking off the fall season with three consecutive new episodes from 9-10:30pm ET/PT.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 9:30pm ET/PT, BET and BET Her premiered the fifth season of ASSISTED LIVING. Season 5 returns to the Pleasant Days Assisted Living Facility with heartfelt moments, genuine connections, and more hilarity as the residents navigate and overcome challenges with things like parenting, dating, and mental and physical health. Family drama kicks off the season, with Jeremy facing some tough family decisions. First, Jeremy and Philip have a disagreement, and Jeremy responds with toughness. As a result, Philip decides to run away from home. When everyone notices he's missing, they're all thrown into a panic, and Jeremy starts to question his parenting skills and if he's possibly being too hard on Philip. In the season opener, "Tough Love," when Phillip makes a shocking decision, Jeremy rethinks the way he handled the recent argument between them. Everybody is worried about Phillip's safety, and Jeremy wonders if his tough love did more harm than good. Mr. Brown goes through a breakup and turns to Anastasia to help make things right.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 9:30pm ET/PT, BET and BET Her premiered "Red Handed," the Season 5 finale of ASSISTED LIVING. Philip gets caught watching porn by Leah, Jeremy brushes it under the rug causing a major rift between he and Leah because of Jeremy's betrayal. Efe encourages a role reversal exercise that brings all of Jeremy and Leah's thoughts to light.
