Season 1
Plot Synopsis
Sterling Archer is a suave master spy at an international spy agency where global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. Even though Archer is all man, his code name is the less-than-masculine "Duchess." Other ISIS personnel include: Malory, his domineering mother and boss; his ex-girlfriend Agent Lana Kane; ISIS comptroller Cyril Figgis, who is Lana's new love interest Cyril Figgis; and Malory's lovesick secretary Cheryl. The series has been described as "James Bond meets ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT." FX aired a special, unannounced sneak peak of the program on September 17, 2009. ARCHER returned for its fourth season on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10pm ET, with the Season 4 premiere episode featuring Archer suffering from amnesia.
ARCHER returned for its fifth season on January 13, 2014 on FX on a new night: Mondays at 10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, someone who had been with the ISIS crew from the beginning died...and then things got crazy.
The sixth season of ARCHER premiered on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on FX. In the season opener, "The Holdout," Archer must salvage a crashed plane in a jungle filled with relics from World War II, as the spies go back into the espionage game after trying to unload a ton of cocaine in the previous season -- but this season, the crew is freelancing for the CIA and no longer working under their ISIS moniker. Guest voices for Season 6 include: Matthew Rhys; Allison Tolman; Keith David and CCH Pounder, who play Lana's parents; and Christian Slater, who returns as Slater.
Season 7 of ARCHER premiered on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on FX, with Archer and the crew leaving behind their spy agency, moving to Los Angeles, and setting up a private investigation firm called The Figgis Agency, which presents all new challenges for the former spies. Every seedy surveillance of a suspected adulterer or investigation into insurance fraud is actually just another excuse for the staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain. In the season opener, "The Figgis Agency," Archer breaks into a mansion to restore the honor of a Hollywood starlet. Christian Slater reprises his role as Slater in the new season, and he's joined by these additional guest voice actors: Keegan-Michael Key, J.K. Simmmons, Patton Oswalt, Jon Daly, Jon Glaser, John O'Hurley, and Dave Willis.
The eighth season of ARCHER premiered Wednesday, April 5 at 10pm ET/PT on a new network: FXX. The new season, titled ARCHER: DREAMLAND, focuses on hardboiled private eye Sterling Archer and his quest to find his partner's killer in 1947 Los Angeles. The case proves to be more difficult than expected after Archer quickly gets mixed up in a deadly game of tug of war between Los Angeles' most powerful crime bosses. Every clue leads Archer further away from his goal and deeper into a mystery involving kidnapping, prostitution and drug addiction. In the season opener, "No Good Deed," while trying to find the person who killed his partner, Archer accidentally gets in bed with Mother, a notorious L.A. crime boss.
Season 9 of ARCHER, now titled ARCHER: DANGER ISLAND, premiered on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on FXX. The new season centers on the semi-functioning alcoholic seaplane pilot, Sterling Archer, a lush on the lush South Pacific island of Mitimotu in 1939. While the rest of the world is concerned about the impending Second World War, Archer is only concerned with who's buying his next drink. Along with his trusty co-pilot Pam, Sterling must navigate quicksand, cannibals, super-intelligent monkeys, poison darts, pirates, and did we mention quicksand? The new season features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as the hard-drinking pilot, Sterling Archer; Jessica Walter as Archer's acid-tongued mother and hotel owner, Malory Archer; Aisha Tyler as island royalty and local revolutionary, Princess Lanaluakalani; Judy Greer as the abandoned heiress, Charlotte Vandertunt; Chris Parnell as the obvious German spy posing as a businessman, Siegbert Fuchs; Amber Nash as Archer's co-pilot and loyal sidekick, Pam Poovey; Adam Reed as impeccably uniformed French Capitaine, Reynaud; and Lucky Yates as the audacious scarlet macaw, Crackers.
ARCHER: 1999, the tenth season of the series, premiered on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on FXX. This season, Sterling Archer, Lana Kane, and their crew of acid-tongued misfits are onboard the M/V Seamus salvage ship. The crew includes: the hard-drinking Captain, Sterling Archer; Archer's Co-Captain and short-tempered ex-wife, Lana Kane; Archer's mother and ball of energy, Malory Archer; the eagle-eye fighter pilot, Cheryl/Carol Tunt; the attention-seeking First Mate, Cyril Figgis; the crew's rock monster muscle, Pam Poovey; the out-of-place-in-space courtesan, Ray Gillette; the synthetic human with questionable morals, Algernop Krieger. In the season opener, "Bort the Garj," Archer and the crew of the Seamus wake up to the smell of shepherd's pie and see a business opportunity in their new guest.
Season 11 of ARCHER premiered on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 10-11:05pm ET/PT on FXX, with back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener, "The Orpheus Gambit," Archer's back in the spy game and his first mission is to guard a priceless statue. His second mission, to tell Lana his true feelings. His third mission, to get blind drunk. Then, in "Bloodsploosh," Archer and the gang attend a martial arts tournament to extricate an international arms dealer. Unrelated, "International Arms Dealer" is what Cyril calls his right bicep.
The twelfth season of ARCHER debuted on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as FXX premiered back-to-back new episodes. This season, Archer and gang face a new threat: a spy conglomerate known as IIA (International Intelligence Agency). With a limited number of spy jobs up for grabs, can the Agency compete against the soulless vultures of IIA, or will our mom-and-pop spy agency be the next to get swallowed alive? Season 12 features the voices of guest stars Pamela Adlon, Eric Andre, Bruce Campbell, Harvey Guillen, Kayvan Novak and Stephen Tobolowsky, to name a few.
Season 13 of ARCHER premiered on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on FXX. This season, Archer and The Agency have been acquired by Fabian Kingsworth and the spy conglomerate known as IIA (International Intelligence Agency). As the gang struggles to find their identity performing odd missions for Fabian, one question arises: will they be able to maintain independence, or will they succumb to their corporate overlords? Season 13 features the voices of guest stars Kenan Thompson, Alison Pill, Christian Slater, Kayvan Novak and Stephen Tobolowsky, to name a few. In the season opener, "The Big Con," free drinks, party rooms and swag bags are just a few of the things the gang is not enjoying at the world's foremost spy convention, Clandesti-con!
The 14th and final season of ARCHER premiered with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 10-11pm ET/PT on FXX. In the season opener, "The Anglerfish Stratagem" (10pm), the Agency teams up with Interpol to take down a highly organized ring of jewel thieves. Archer's skeptical as their Interpol contact seems to be treating the mission as more of an audition... but for which side? Written by Mark Ganek. Then, in the second episode, "30 for 30" (10:30pm), Zara Khan thinks she's a real knockout, but Archer wants to prove he is just as stunning. Pam and Gillette sit back and keep score. Written by Matt Roller.
