Plot Synopsis

Using eyewitness accounts and rare footage, APOCALYPSE EARTH is a two-hour documentary series that examines the catastrophic threat natural phenomena can pose to the US and around the world, while also telling stories of survival. Earth, air, water and fire are essential elements in life. But what happens when these natural elements turn on humanity? The season opener, "Volcanoes: Fire & Fury," chronicles some of the world's most notorious volcanoes, the devastation they have caused, and the unimaginable beauty they can leave in their wake. The second episode, "Tornadoes: Winds of Terror," examines the scientific and human impact of some of the most destructive tornadoes in the United States.
