Plot Synopsis

Dr. George Coleman, a top-dog New York veterinarian, has an undeniable gift with animals of all kinds, but struggles to connect with humans, including the animals' owners. George works at Crane Animal Hospital, where his former girlfriend, Dorothy Crane, becomes his new boss when she takes over the family business. Dorothy once held the key to George's heart, and now she's going to make him pay for the past. Plus, her lack of experience with animals is seriously cramping his style, because he's used to playing poker with the other vets and a resident capuchin monkey, portrayed by Crystal. The other vets include: Dr. Doug Jackson, who's great with animals but hapless in matters of the heart; Dr. Yamamoto, who loves gambling and partying; and Dr. Rizzo, a sprightly capuchin. NBC presented a sneak peek episode of this series at 10:58pm ET on Sunday, August 12, 2012, immediately following the Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games, and showed the official series premiere on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 8pm ET.
