Plot Synopsis

Using dramatic re-creations and first-person interviews, AMISH MAFIA tells the tales of Lebanon Levi and his three henchmen, who seek to keep outside forces from infiltrating the Amish community, while protecting the principles and morality within their Lancaster, PA community. Levi is the Amish insider who holds the power and serves as protector of the community for a price; he exists above the law and occupies the role of police, judge and jury. Levi's team is lean and fearless: Alvin, Levi's lifelong friend and right-hand man, has a dark side, a past, and most importantly, Levi's complete trust; Jolin, a Mennonite and Levi's foot soldier, who has his religion's freedom to carry guns and has permission to carry out punishments of all levels against offenders; and John, a non-Amish member of the group, who is the son of the late former protector who maintained peace in the community -- and now he struggles with his desire to follow in his father's footsteps and take Levi's place as the head of the group. Season 2 opened with Lebanon Levi leaning on a new soldier, as Jolin was finding his bearings in Lancaster. Plus, Esther and brothers returned to Lancaster to find unexpected problems. In later episodes, Alan was recruited to go after Lebanon Levi, and he and Merlin joined forces. Jolin rejoined the crew, but his authority was tested. "The Amish church denies the existence of the Amish Mafia," is splashed across the screen to start each show, and the following text is shown at the end of each episode: "Recreations are based on eye witness accounts, testimonials and the legend of the Amish mafia." Discovery aired a sneak-peek episode of this program on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10:30pm ET/PT, followed by the official series premiere the next night at 9pm ET/PT. AMISH MAFIA returned for its third season on Tuesday, February 25 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Discovery. In the new season, Levi struggles to keep outside forces from infiltrating the Amish community. Both old and new rivals are lurking nearby, determined to take away Levi's power and bring him down once and for all. Levi must stand his ground and expand his territory to other parts of the country, or risk forever losing his authority. Plus, Esther speaks out about the shocking attack and responds to allegations that she is leading a double life. Meanwhile, Levi's nemesis Merlin seeks revenge on Wayne for ousting him from Amish Aid in Ohio. By recruiting new enforcers and building fresh alliances, Merlin hopes to regain control of Ohio and fulfill his destiny of leading the entire Amish community. On Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel, AMISH MAFIA returned for its fourth and final season, immediately following an all-day marathon (9am-8pm) of encore episodes and a special episode of AMISH MAFIA: THE DEVIL'S CUT at 8pm. For Season 4, returning cast members Levi, Merlin, Caleb, Alan, Constable Paul, Big Steve, and Mary are joined by newbies Doug, Zach, Brent, and Susanna. In the season opener, "The Return," Levi wants to show the world how the Amish really live, but his lack of respect frustrates Caleb; meanwhile, Merlin is threatened when Sam Mullet is released from prison.

Discovery premiered the series finale of AMISH MAFIA on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT. In the series ender, "The End Is Near," Levi's biggest secret is revealed and the secrets of Amish Mafia are brought to light. Diefel [Devil] Doug has abandoned his followers, Alan decides to fill the power vacuum in Lancaster and take care of the community. On the same night as the show's finale, Discovery also premiered a new episode of DEVIL'S CUT at 8pm and a one-hour special, "Amish Confidential," at 10pm.
