Plot Synopsis

Inspired by the real-life upbringing of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS' Kyle Richards, AMERICAN WOMAN is a scripted series that follows Bonnie, an unconventional mother struggling to raise her two daughters after leaving her husband amid the rise of second-wave feminism in the '70s. With the help of her two best friends, Kathleen and Diana, these three women each discover their own brand of independence in a glamorous and ever-changing world reluctant to give it. The story opens with Bonnie's life changing forever when she discovers her husband Steve is having an affair. With the help of her best friends Diana and Kathleen, Bonnie figures out how to make it on her own. Suddenly responsible for her own finances for the first time, Bonnie enlists the help of Diana and Kathleen in her search for stability. Kathleen & Greg start a new business venture and work through personal issues; meanwhile, Diana chases a promotion.

Desperate to make her children happy, Bonnie considers giving Steve another chance; Kathleen struggles to make a decision about her future; Diana settles into a new role at work.
