Plot Synopsis

Scott Conant challenges three chef teams to compete a real-world culinary battle, challenging them in two rounds that speak to everyday issues that chefs and restaurants face. On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Food Network premiered "Nationwide Showdown," a one-hour standalone episode. From his home base in Scottsdale, AZ, Scott Conant challenges three chef teams from across America -- eateries in Corbin (KY), Atlanta (GA), and Wayne (PA) -- to compete from their own restaurant kitchens. Using their own ingredients and equipment, the chefs must complete these challenges and impress the respected restaurateur -- Maneet Chauhan, Chris Cosentino and Tiffani Faison -- waiting in their dining rooms. In the end, one restaurant team wins city pride and $15,000 for restaurant improvements. Food Network had no other episodes on its schedule at that time.
