Plot Synopsis

Host and renowned chef David Guas travels across America, where in each town four local grill masters from various backgrounds go head-to-head for a chance to win a $10,000 prize and the right to call themselves Grill Master. In each one-hour episode, four contestants use locally sourced ingredients -- blue crab in Maryland, quail in Georgia and T-bone steaks in Texas -- and serve up delicious and original plates that showcase the grill, embrace the local flavors, and impress a panel of three judges, which includes Guas and two local culinary legends. Guas journies to a different city in each 60-minute episode, such as: Asheville, NC, featuring guest judges Elizabeth Karmel (owner of Hill Country BBQ restaurants) and Jason Sandford (a food writer and journalist from Asheville); Annapolis, MD, showcasing guest judges Diva Q (former Jack Daniel's World Pork Champion) and George Hensler (a Maryland pit master); Charlottesville, VA, including guest judges Lisa Bacon (a Virginia-based writer and editor) and Famous Dave Anderson (owner of the Famous Dave chain); and many more cities across America, where hardcore grilling enthusiasts show off their skills.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, Travel Channel aired the Season 1 finale of AMERICAN GRILLED. In the season ender, "Rolling Hills and Sizzling Grills," four master grillers in Latrobe, PA -- Sal, Justin, Kim and Sean-- battle it out for $10,000 and the title of Latrobe Grill Master, as they use local ingredients like lamb loin chops, pickled beet eggs and Pennsylvania chocolate.
