Plot Synopsis
AMERICAN CHAINSAW is a reality series that follows master chainsaw sculptor "The Machine" Jesse Green, as he and his employees create awesome chainsaw sculptures for demanding clients. Whether he's sculpting an intricately detailed dragon for a Salem witch shop, a 27-foot tall baseball bat for a children's sports league, or a clown that squirts water out of its mouth for the circus, Jesse and his crew always approach the project head on. Jesse has crafted hundreds of artistic creations around the country -- many scattered across yards, in front of businesses or in public places throughout New England -- and he typically works on 10 different projects at any given time. He also recently launched "Project Eco-Art Massachusetts," his ambitious plan to create a unique work of art for each of the 351 communities in his home state. Plus, Jesse finds time to play in his band, Fevah Dream, and spend time with his family. In each 30-minute episode of this series, Jesse and his crew complete one client's carving, including: a dragon for a witch shop in Salem, MA, where store owner Lori, a witch and psychic, wants to add a crystal ball to the carving; the Derby Girl, which will be the league championship trophy for the Boston Derby Dames, a roller derby team; a DogCat sculpture for an old friend who wants the creation for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a veterinary clinic that he supervises; the Rock Star, a saxophone with music notes floating from the horn, that Jesse creates for local music store owners; an old sculpture on Jesse's lawn that he gives new life when his mailman see it has an uncanny resemblance to his retiring Air Force Reserves commanding officer; an installment for one of his favorite musicians, with Jesse agreeing to complete the job without pay in exchange for a jam session with the Boston musician; a squirrel that Jesse will create from a nine-foot sugar maple stump in the front yard of a couple; a carving of Grandma the Clown, a star performer for the Big Apple Circus; and many more unique works of art.
